The Graduate Institute of Collaborative Piano at Tainan National University of the Arts is Taiwan's first graduate school devoted to collaborative piano and relevant training. It is committed to offering a comprehensive, systematic and professional curriculum of collaborative piano techniques. In areas pertaining to collaborative piano, the institute has nurtured next-generation professionals while playing a positive and significant role.The institute aims to develop the potential of aspiring collaborative pianists in such areas as vocal accompanying, instrumental accompanying, and chamber music. Designed for each area is a curriculum that features inclusive training, hands-on experience, and seminars on topics such as choral or dance accompanying. Students are expected to gain competitiveness in performance skills, knowledge of the vocal and instrumental chamber literature, and meet the highest possible standards in the international and professional music world.
 
 
Degree:
Degree conferred upon program completion: Master of Music.
Application Information:
Applicants who live outside of Taiwan may be eligible to submit a recorded audition. Audition recording must be video. Selections must be performed without editing.
Audition Repertoire: (All the repertoire can be played with score.)
(1) One piano solo piece
(2) One fast and one slow movements from an instrumental duo sonata by composers after W. A. Mozart (included)
(3) One German Lied and one French melodie by the following composers:
German: Brahms, Mahler,  Marx, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, Strauss, Wolf
French: Berlioz, Chausson, Debussy, Duparc, Faure, Poulenc, Ravel
Graduation Requirements:
Duration of Study: It is expected that all the requirements for the program will be completed within  two years. Extensions to the normal residency are granted for valid reasons and up to four years for full-time students, seven for part-time students.
Credits: 42
Others:
(1) All credits must be completed before the graduation recital.
(2) One 30-minute recital, one complete graduation recital, and one Master’s program written report.
