7-year Program:
 
(1) Program and Environmental Advantage
The Department is currently the only Chinese Music Department with a 7-year Program spanning high school to college. Asides from humanity and literature courses, specialized courses are designed to strengthen students’ basic foundation of musicianship during the first three years. Thoroughly planned courses prepare students to obtain knowledge within  their specialization and become professional musicians. Students are highly recommended to live on campus to minimize outside distractions.
 
(2) Comprehensive Teaching Facilities
The Department possesses classrooms  to accommodate all type of classes simultaneously. All classrooms are equipped with multimedia facilities. There are 80 practice rooms, allowing students to practice at their own time. There is a concert hall with a capacity of 200 people, offering a place for students to share their outcomes from ensemble and Chinese orchestra classes. Also, students can utilize the concert hall to hold different kinds of events.
 
 
Master Program:
 
Master program of the department focuses on the development of musicianship for the arts, allowing students not only to enhance the performing skills, but  also to  build the ability of  musical expression through related courses.
 
The Department’s master program aims at developing Chinese music performing artists and research scholars. Instrument majors, chamber music, orchestra and discussion on music interpretation are the emphasis of the master program. In addition, classes on subjects related to art, such as history of arts, music, and drama are all important aspects. Students in the master program will be trained to be virtuosic and comprehensive artists.
