• Information on Health and Medical Care

Foreign Student Health Insurance

Health Insurance for International Students
Based on regulations of Article 22 in “International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan,” at the time of registration, the new foreign student should submit a medical and injury insurance policy which is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Taiwan. If the issuer of the proof of insurance is a foreign entity, the document shall be verified by an ROC Embassy or Overseas Mission. Current students should submit Taiwan’s National Health Insurance and other insurance-related documents. New students without National Health Insurance are required to enroll in the “Foreign Student Medical Insurance” provided by TNNUA.

National Health Insurance

Taiwan’s regulations require international students undertaking studies in Taiwan who, having resided in Taiwan for six months or more after acquiring the ARC, to subscribe to the National Health Insurance at their institutions of study or the local district offices at the places of residence. ( Six months refers to the date on entering to reside in Taiwan, having lived consecutively for six months, or with only a single case of exiting for a period of no longer than 30 days. After subtracting the days of leaving the country, the total length of residence reaches 6 months.)
